Synopsis

Short description of my photography workflow on Ubuntu

Hardware

• Panasonic Lumix G81
• Tuxbook by Tuxedo computers, running Ubuntu 20.04
• iPhone SE (1st gen)

Import

• connection via USB (since my laptop doesn't have a card reader)
• for the download, I'm using Rapid Photo Downloader for the import - quick&easy
• no custom renaming logic (so far)

Processing

Darktable

• prep folder named
• import to folder
• clean
  • preview mode for filtering / tagging - STRG+ALT+W
  • reject un-focused / broken images
  • star those we want to keep
  • delete rejected

Cleanup

Clean SD card after every import

Cloud storage

Auto-sync to cloud (I'm using Jottacloud)

OPEN QUESTIONS

• how to include mobile phones?
• workflow for tagging + album creation - in Darktable? Somewhere else?
